WE GO WAY BACK (80 min.)
directed by Lynn Shelton

* Writer/director Lynn Shelton is scheduled to attend.

WE GO WAY BACK is a funny, tender character study which explores the comedy and pain of finding the courage to face up to yourself. A hard-working young actress with a small theater company, Kate lands her first leading role on her 23rd birthday. When she reads a cheerfully inquisitive birthday letter from her 13-year-old self, it seems she might actually be fulfilling childhood aspirations.  But the letter triggers mounting confusion for Kate, and her former self won't seem to go away.

Shot in the lyrical upper Northwest, WE GO WAY BACK boasts beautiful photography, poetic editing, a sublime soundtrack (featuring songs by The Decemberists and Laura Veirs), and a touch of comedy, as well as the surreal –  all adding up to an incredibly executed, well rounded and fully realized film.  Films with a seemingly palpable soul are few and far between.  This is one of those films.

Director Bio:

WE GO WAY BACK is her debut feature.

Screens with CIRCUMFERENCE, directed by CJ Wallis (10min. / Canada). A dark comedy that explores the cyclical journey of a man's failed marriage, and the realization that sometimes you only get one shot to make things right.
